กฺลิ่น

สิ่งที่รู้ได้ด้วยจมูก คือ เหม็น หอม และอื่น ๆ, บางทีใช้หมายความว่า เหม็น เช่น แกงหม้อนี้เริ่มมีกลิ่น, โดยปริยายหมายความว่า ลักษณะไม่น่าไว้วางใจ เช่น เรื่องนี้ชักมีกลิ่น การประมูลครั้งนี้เริ่มส่งกลิ่น.

(n.) Something perceived by the nose, such as odor, fragrance, etc.; sometimes used to mean 'bad smell', e.g., 'This curry is starting to smell.' Figuratively, it means something suspicious or untrustworthy, e.g., 'This matter is starting to smell fishy,' 'This auction is starting to give off a scent.'

กฺลิ่น

ชื่อพวงดอกไม้ร้อยมีรูปแบนประกอบด้วยอุบะ, ถ้าทำให้ผูกแขวนควํ่าลงมา เรียกว่า กลิ่นควํ่า, ถ้าทำให้ผูกแขวนตะแคง เรียกว่า กลิ่นตะแคง.

(n.) Name of a garland made of flowers, flat in shape and composed of hanging floral tassels; if hung upside down, it is called 'กลิ่นควํ่า'; if hung sideways, it is called 'กลิ่นตะแคง'.
