Black-winged Kite, Elanus caeruleus (Desfontaines), family Accipitridae; small hawk with white breast, grey back, and black shoulder patches; inhabits open plains; feeds on small animals including small birds. Also called เหยี่ยวขาว (white kite). Both this species and the Pied Kingfisher (see 92672) characteristically hover stationary while scanning for prey in water or on the ground, hence both are called ปักหลัก.
