ชื่อไม้ล้มลุกชนิด Scleria poaeformisRetz. ในวงศ์ Cyperaceae ขึ้นในนํ้า ใบยาว ๆ ใช้มุงหลังคาและสานเสื่อเป็นต้น, อีสานเรียก แวง.

(n.) A herbaceous aquatic plant, Scleria poaeformis Retz. (family Cyperaceae), with long leaves used for thatching roofs and weaving mats; called แวง in the Isan (northeastern Thai) dialect.
