ชื่อไม้ต้นชนิด Horsfieldia irya (Gaertn.) Warb. ในวงศ์ Myristicaceae ขึ้นตามฝั่งนํ้าลำคลอง ใบเป็นมันคล้ายใบจำปี แต่เรียวและนิ่มกว่า ดอกสีเหลือง ผลกลมเป็นพวงคล้ายมะไฟ, กรวยบ้าน ก็เรียก.

A tree species, Horsfieldia irya (Gaertn.) Warb., family Myristicaceae, found along riverbanks and canals; leaves are glossy and resemble those of champak but are more slender and softer; flowers are yellow; fruit is round and grows in clusters resembling Baccaurea; also called 'kruai ban'.
