กฺลาย

เปลี่ยนไป, แปรปรวนไป, เช่น หน้าหนาวกลายเป็นหน้าร้อน, เป็นอื่นไป, แปลงไป, เช่น ศรกลายเป็นทิพย์กระยาหาร เปรี้ยวหวานตกลงตรงหน้า (รามเกียรติ์ ร. ๒), (โบ; กลอน) ใช้ในความว่า กราย ก็มี เช่น ไปกลายบ๋านชองตนกดี (จารึกสยาม), จักเจริญสวัสดิภาพศักดิศรี ศัตรูไพรี บห่อนจะใกล้กลายตน (โชค-โบราณ).

(v.) To change, to transform, e.g., 'winter turns into summer'; to become something else, to convert, e.g., 'the arrow became divine food, sweet and sour, appearing before him' (Ramayana, King Rama II). (Obsolete; poetic) Also used in the sense of 'grai', e.g., 'went to another's house' (Siamese inscription), 'will prosper in dignity, enemies will not approach' (ancient fortune).
