เรียกจิ้งหรีดชนิด Brachytrypes portentosus (Lichtenstein) ว่า อ้ายโกร่ง, จิ้งโกร่ง หรือ หัวตะกั่ว ก็เรียก. (ดู จิ้งโกร่ง).
