(n.) [cf. Pali 'kathumba'] Name of a medium to large tree species, Anthocephalus chinensis (Lam.) A. Rich. ex Walp., in the family Rubiaceae. The leaves are opposite along the branches, with triangular, pointed stipules at the base of the petioles on both sides of the branch. The flowers are fragrant, pale yellow, and spherical clusters. The wood is yellow or white, used for posts, planks, and low-quality paper pulp. Also called 'krathum bok', 'takoo', or 'takosom'.
