โลกทั้ง ๓ ทางพระพุทธศาสนาหมายความถึง กามภพ คือภพของผู้ที่ติดอยู่ในกาม ตั้งแต่ฉกามาพจรลงมาถึงนรกภูมิ รูปภพ คือภพของพรหมที่มีรูป และอรูปภพ คือภพของพรหมที่ไม่มีรูป, ทางวรรณคดีหมายความถึง สวรรค์ มนุษยโลก และบาดาล, ตรีภพ ตรีโลก หรือ ไตรโลก ก็ว่า.

The three worlds; in Buddhism, refers to the three realms: the sensual realm (kāmadhātu), which is the realm of beings attached to sensual pleasures, from the six heavens of the sensual world down to the hell realms; the form realm (rūpadhātu), which is the realm of Brahmas with form; and the formless realm (arūpadhātu), which is the realm of formless Brahmas. In literature, it refers to heaven, the human world, and the underworld. Also called triphūm, triloka, or trailoka.
