(n.) Name of a freshwater fish in the genus Trichogaster, family Belontiidae, similar to the snakeskin gourami but smaller. It has long, thread-like pelvic fins. There are three species: 'kradi mo' [T. trichopterus (Pallas)] with several transverse stripes on the sides and a black spot in the middle of the body and at the caudal peduncle, up to 15 cm long, also called 'salak' or 'salang'; 'kradi nang' [T. microlepis (Günther)] which is whitish; and 'kradi nang fa' or 'kradi muk' [T. leeri (Bleeker)], which is kept as an ornamental fish. In some northeastern regions, it is called 'kradert'.
