ขะยี่

ใช้มือ เท้า หรือเล็บเป็นต้นบี้ซํ้า ๆ ให้แหลกละเอียด เช่น ขยี้พิมเสน ขยี้ดิน, เอาวัตถุเช่นผ้าถูกับเนื้อของมันเองในการซักฟอก, เอาวัตถุเช่นกระดาษถูกับเนื้อของมันเองเพื่อให้นิ่ม, เอามือกดถูไปมา เช่น ขยี้ตา ขยี้ผม, โดยปริยายหมายความว่า ทำลายให้แหลกละเอียด เช่น ขยี้ข้าศึก.

วิธีบรรเลงดนตรีโดยเพิ่มพยางค์ในประโยคเพลงให้มากขึ้นกว่าการบรรเลงปรกติ ทำได้ ๒ วิธี คือ เพิ่มโดยเติมพยางค์ก่อนจะถึงลูกตกท้ายประโยค หรือเพิ่มโดยการบรรเลงประโยคนั้นให้เร็วขึ้นเป็นหลายครั้งในเวลาเท่ากับการบรรเลงเดิม.
